Culture is a hot topic. But what is it? How do you measure it and how do you help employees make sense of it?

One GM said, “What’s up with this culture stuff?! I think it’s in the walls. I could send everyone away and it would still be here!”

And he was right! It is everywhere, deeply imbedded in your organization. And it affects everything that happens, most importantly, change, or the lack thereof!

We utilize the Denison Organization Culture Model and Survey to measure the culture in actionable, understandable terms and to create action plans for enhancing the culture so it is more sustainable and profitable. Understanding the culture in everyday terms provides a handle for communication, development and strategy to build a vibrant and enduring organization for its owners, customers, and employees.

We can measure macro–culture and the various cultures within an organization. Up to 77% of mergers and acquisitions fail, usually as a result of cultural mismatch. We can look at the differing cultures of two potential partner organizations, such as with a merger, to help the players review the challenges and strategize plans and tactics for successfully completing the combination.
